Modern Treasury supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for additional security. If you are using SAML and Google Sign-in users, your MFA setup would be enabled through another provider (eg Okta, OneLogin, Google, etc). If you are logging into Modern Treasury via email & password only, then you can set up Multi-Factor Authentication within the application.
- How can Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) be turned on?
- An admin can turn on individual users' multi-factor authentication via Settings → User then select "Require multi-factor authentication"
-
- After turning on MFA for a user, the next time the user logs in, they will enroll in a second factor. Then in subsequent logins, the user will be prompted to enter their 2FA at login. There are two options for MFA:
-
-
- Time-based one-time password: this will be a QR code that the user scans with their Google Authenticator, 1Password, or any variety of password or authenticator apps
-
-
-
- SMS shortcodes: the user will register their phone number and input a 6-digit shortcode messaged to their phone
-
